Now in its third year as major sponsor of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, luxury carmaker Audi, boasts some of the most desirable sportscars on the road and of course, the best way to experience the brand is behind the wheel of one of these extraordinary vehicles.
Bring on the Audi Drive Challenge.
As part of bringing the brand to life for the sailing community, and perhaps more importantly to determine the ultimate winner of the major prize at Race Week, Audi brings its motorsport Ambassador, Brad Jones, to Hamilton Island to put the sailors through their paces on a specially-designed course on the airport runway.
And what screams competition quite like more than $500,000 worth of gleaming machinery in the shape of Audi’s mind-blowing RS6 sedan - to sit alongside some of the fastest racing boats in Australia.
To be in the running to win the overall prize at the 2009 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week, every boat must send one competitor to undertake the Audi Drive Challenge on Lay Day.
More than just a speed-based competition, the Audi Drive Challenge is all about skill and precision. And like a well-oiled team onboard a racing yacht, the Drive Challenge is all about perfect timing.
Like a classic wolf in sheep’s clothing, the Audi RS 6 is one of the fastest production sedans on the planet- making the airport runway the most fitting place to show off for this thoroughbred sportscar.
Details of the Audi Drive Challenge will be communicated closer to the Drive Challenge itself, but all crews should set aside some time on Lay Day - Tuesday 25 August to compete for their chance to win the major prize, a brand new, latest-generation Audi A4 Avant, and pilot the Audi RS6 - just because you can.
