Thursday 27 August 2009

Crown Lager Dent Island Day at Hamilton Island Golf Club will see a welcome return to the times when there was exceptional camaraderie and rivalry between the crews participating in Audi Hamilton Island Race Week in a party atmosphere that is their own.

The day commences with free ferry transfers that leave continuously between 10.30am and 4.00pm from the Dent Island Jetty at the Marina (opposite the Race Office). There will be live music, food and beverage stalls, scenic helicopter flights and golf course tours throughout the day. The most exciting part will be the challenges lined up for the day with great prizes to be won.

Registration for each of these challenges will occur at their tee.

Crown Lager ‘Hole in One’ Challenge

Crown Lager

The toughest challenge of the day – driving a golf ball into a Crown Lager basket floating in the middle of Dent Island dam. Contestants will have three golf balls to attempt the challenge and the winner/s will receive a share in a $2000 prize pool courtesy of Crown Lager.

Audi ‘Longest Drive’ Challenge

The ‘Team’ Challenge is a great way for the crews to continue the rivalry off the water. Each Team can enter 6 team members. Each Team member putts for a  hole in one. The distance each player falls short is measured up and totalled. The team with the shortest total wins a team prize of $3,000 courtesy of Crown Lager.

The ‘Individual’ challenge will consist of numerous activities including some novelty ideas. Can you putt your best using your non writing hand or blindfolded? Have a go and be up for some great Crown Lager branded prizes including cases of beer, merchandise, drink vouchers and more.

Henri Lloyd ‘Grinder’ Challenge

Grind your way to some Henri Lloyd designs! In the true spirit of sailing, this competition is open to everyone – men and women. It’s on the Harken grinder and the best effort on the day in the male category and female category will win:
